Telescope Casual Furniture, a manufacturer of outdoor furniture, found through its National Shopper Survey that 67 percent of shoppers say they will have extra money this summer.

When asked on what things they will spend their extra money on, 59 percent said they would like to take a vacation.

“These results are very exciting for the hospitality industry, who will benefit from the pent-up demand to spend and the availability of the extra money our survey reports,” says Kathy Juckett, CEO of Telescope Casual Furniture.

“With the summer vacation season underway, we have seen an uptick in our contract business from last year as more restaurants, hotels, and motels are upgrading their furnishings and decor as a result of the renewed desire and ability of shoppers to spend money for vacations,” she says.

The Telescope National Shopper Survey is a national Internet survey of 1,500 adults conducted quarterly by WSL Strategic Retail.
