Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill reported today that it achieved 74% unit growth for its fiscal year 2011.
“Costa Vida has experienced dramatic growth despite recent economic uncertainty nationwide,” says Sean Collins, Chairman at Costa Vida.
“We attribute our success to the strength of our Baja Coast inspired brand and to our fresh food which has enabled us to reach this exciting milestone.”
In 2010, Costa Vida reached an agreement to aggressively convert many of the Bajio Mexican Grill restaurants to the Costa Vida brand. With those conversions, plus new stores in new markets, Costa Vida opened 17 locations throughout Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Missouri, and Washington. The 39th and 40th units opened in Missouri and Utah, respectively.
“The opening of our 40th store is evidence of the great momentum we have at Costa Vida,” says Jeff Jacobson, President of Costa Vida.
“Each location represents the dedication and hard work of our franchisees, their managers and employees. Each of them strives daily for greatness in all Costa Vida operations.”
“2011 is the beginning of more dramatic growth for Costa Vida,” says Jason Stowe, Vice President of Development.
“We have an exciting plan for expansion in the coming years. It is energizing to watch the comments on our Facebook page every day, as more people all over the country are asking Costa Vida to come to their community. It is also exciting to work with engaged franchisees and operators who are dedicated to the success of Costa Vida.”
