Creamistry, a California-based franchise specializing in customizable made-to-order liquid nitrogen ice cream using all natural and organic ingredients, continues to expand its diverse menu with the introduction of premium ice cream cakes in several select California locations and Las Vegas storefront.
Creamistry ice cream cakes have layers of premium ice cream and moist, freshly baked sponge cake, decadently frosted in fresh cream and adorned with toppings and garnishes. The ice cream cakes are available in a variety of flavors and signature designs including Birthday Cake, Cappuccino, Chocolate, Cookies & Cream, Strawberry Cheesecake and Vanilla. Currently, each cake is made in-store according to carefully crafted recipes, but Creamistry plans a system-wide rollout in early 2019 that will include both premade cakes and fully customizable orders giving customers the opportunity to build their own cake perfect for any event or occasion.
“At Creamistry, we are constantly innovating new ways to elevate the ice cream experience in its different variations,” says founder and CEO, Jay Yim. “Ice cream cakes are the union of a soft baked good and creamy, cold ice cream. When you combine the two it creates a memorable treat. With our different flavors, and upcoming customizable option, our ice cream cakes will be something for everyone to enjoy.”
Creamistry collaborated with executive pastry chef and consultant, Newton Shin, to create, design, and perfect their signature ice cream cakes. Awarded the 2014 “Pastry Chef of the Year” by Southern California Restaurant Writers, Shin has more than 30 years of experience in the pastry and dessert industry and has successfully opened 24 new bakeries, all still operational today. Shin has joined the Creamistry team to assist in the launch of Creamistry ice cream cakes. His wealth of experience and knowledge is evident in the taste and stunning visual appeal of each ice cream cake.
Yim was first introduced to the concept of liquid nitrogen ice cream on the streets of South Korea in 2003. Born into a family of Korean bakers, Yim and his wife Katie, made their first batch of homemade liquid nitrogen ice cream with the help of his father as the quality control “chemist.” Over the next two years, the family experimented with over a hundred flavor combinations, the best of which eventually became an integral part of Creamistry’s menu.
“There is always something new being made in the food industry, and at Creamistry while we love creating new flavors we also enjoy taking a twist on classic desserts,” adds Yim. “Our ice cream cakes will let guests be a part of the creation process from start to finish.”
Ice cream cakes are the latest addition to Creamistry’s ever growing and evolving menu of frozen treats. Other signature menu items include Creamistry Creations – layers of premium ice cream, toppings, and drizzles, NitroShakes, NitroFloats, and Ice Cream Sandwiches.
