The Dairy Queen system is taking over New York City one borough at a time. The company announced the opening of two new DQ Grill and Chill restaurants in Queens and the Bronx, marking the brand’s third and fourth entry into New York City’s five boroughs and creating more than 100 jobs.

“The DQ system has tremendous brand equity and has always had a strong following in New York City,” says Jim Kerr, vice president of franchise development at American Dairy Queen Corporation. “It made sense to expand our presence here following successful openings in Manhattan and Staten Island. We have partnered with franchisees who are fans of the brand. They are excited to bring all that the Dairy Queen system has to offer to their local communities.”

The menu at both the Queens and Bronx DQ Grill & Chill restaurants feature a range of food options for customers, including the DQ system’s value meal, $5 Buck Lunch, which is available daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at these locations. Fans have a choice of two Crispy Chicken Wraps, a Bacon Cheeseburger, 3-piece Chicken Strip Lunch, or a Chili Cheese Dog, which are all served with fries, a beverage, and choice of a sundae. For just $1 more, fans also will have the option to upgrade their small sundae to a small Blizzard Treat.

Both locations also feature DQ treatfavorites such as the Blizzard Treats, and a wide variety of other soft-serve items. The full line of Orange Julius fruit-blended beverages is also available. All Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies and Julius Original drinks are available in eight flavors, including Orange, Strawberry, Strawberry Banana, Tripleberry, Mango Pineapple, Berry Pomegranate, OrangeBerry, and Piña Colada. The Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies are fresh-blended to order with real fruit and low-fat yogurt.

The menu at the Queens DQ Grill & Chill restaurant, under franchisee Hong Mei Chen, also features DQ Cakes. Just one block north of Roosevelt Avenue, the restaurant is located in the neighborhood of Corona at 37-39 Junction Blvd.

Operated by franchisee Amit Sehgal, the Bronx DQ Grill & Chill restaurant is located at 200 Baychester Avenue inside the food court of the Mall at Bay Plaza. Sehgal has more than eight years of experience in the quick-service industry, specifically in New York City.

The Dairy Queen system opened the first U.S. two-story DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in Manhattan earlier this year and in 2013 opened a DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in the Staten Island Ferry Terminal.
