The Dairy Queen system is serving up a new, decadent Choco Peanut Butter Brownie as the featured Blizzard of the Month for May.

A smooth blend of peanut butter, choco chunks, and brownie pieces tumbled with DQsignature creamy vanilla soft serve, Choco Peanut Butter Brownieis available beginning May 1 at all participating Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill locations nationwide.

Fans can enjoy the Choco Peanut Butter Brownie Blizzard Treat in four sizes, including the popular Mini.

BlizzardTreat flavors now also come served in plain or chocolate-dipped, freshly baked waffle cones, in keeping with the Dairy Queen system’s status as the Cone Capital of the World.

“We understand the need for chocolate cravers to satisfy indulgences from time to time, and our new Choco Peanut Butter Brownie Blizzard Treat does just that and more," says Barry Westrum, executive vice president of marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ). “Choco Peanut Butter Brownie is a sinfully delicious flavor combination and is just one of the innovative new menu items introduced this year that fans can enjoy and won’t find anywhere else.”

Light Smoothies also debut this month as part of the national rollout of Orange JuliusPremium Fruit Smoothies and Julius Originals to Dairy Queen restaurants.

In addition to signature treats and smoothies, DQ Grill & Chill restaurants and other DQ locations offer delicious and unique food items, including Premium GrillBurgers, Chicken Strip Baskets, Iron Grilled Sandwiches, Grilled or Crispy Chicken Sandwiches and Salads, Shrimp Baskets, Quesadillas, Chili Cheese Dogs, and more.

A new deal is the $5 Buck Lunch, available daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at participating locations. Fans have a choice of a quarter-pound GrillBurger with cheese, 3-piece Chicken Strip lunch, or a Chili Cheese Dog, which are all served with fries, a beverage, and choice of a sundae.

For just $1 more, fans also have the option to upgrade their small sundae to a small Blizzard Treat. The offer may vary in Texas.

The Dairy Queen system began blending simple combinations of chocolate, nuts, cookies, candies, and fruits with DQ soft serve in 1985 to create the signature Blizzard Treat.

The iconic treat has created the served upside-down Blizzard culture and since then, one-of-a-kind flavors such as Chocolate Candy Shop, Midnight Truffle, and Confetti Cake have delighted Dairy Queen fans as part of the featured Blizzard of the Month program, which began in 2003.

Many Blizzard Treat flavors, including Choco Peanut Butter Brownie, also can also be made into DQ Cakes,perfect for birthdays, Mother’s Day, and holidays such as Memorial Day.

The incredible popularity of the Blizzard brand is what led the Dairy Queen system to initiate the Blizzard Fan Club in 2005 and the Dairy Queen Facebook fan page in 2008. Today, the Fan Club is 3.4 million members strong, while the DQ Facebook fan page has more than 5.8 million friends.
