Mark the calendar for Thursday, July 30 to support children like Jacob, Starla, Molly, Nathan, and Michael who have a remarkable medical story to tell thanks to the treatment they received at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals).

On Thursday, July 30, DQ Grill & Chill and Dairy Queen locations throughout the U.S. will celebrate the 10th Annual DQ Miracle Treat Day to raise funds to help save and improve the lives of sick and injured children in CMN Hospitals. During Miracle Treat Day, $1 or more from every Blizzard Treat sold at participating locations will be donated to CMN Hospitals, which raises funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.

“Every minute, 62 children enter a CMN Hospital for treatment. That’s a staggering statistic,” says John Gainor, president and CEO of International Dairy Queen Inc. “When you visit these hospitals and meet with the kids and their families, you can’t help but be moved by their stories and appreciate the doctors and nurses who care for them. Miracle Treat Day helps raise awareness and funds for these kids and their families in our local communities.”

This year Miss America 2015 Kira Kazantsev, the national goodwill ambassador for CMN Hospitals, will serve as honorary spokesperson for DQ Miracle Treat Day. Miss America titleholders have been involved with CMN Hospitals by visiting member hospitals and helping with fundraising activities since 1989.

This year the featured Miracle Treat Day Blizzard Treat of the Day is Oreo, the most popular Blizzard Treat in the world. The Blizzard of the Month for August in the U.S. is ROLO Minis, featuring creamy vanilla soft serve blended with ROLO Minis and swirls of smooth caramel. All other Blizzard flavors are also available that day.

Last year, Dairy Queen operators across the U.S. and Canada raised nearly $5 million on Miracle Treat Day for CMN Hospitals. Since 1984, the Dairy Queen system has raised more than $100 million for the charity through fundraising efforts including Miracle Treat Day, the Miracle Balloon campaign and other local initiatives.

“As part of the Dairy Queen system’s 75th anniversary celebration this year, we want to make this the biggest and best Miracle Treat Day ever,” Gainor adds. “We are encouraging our fans to spread the word and mark this date on their calendar by visiting Or, they can text ‘miracle’ to 88769 to receive a Miracle Treat Day text reminder on July 30 to visit a participating DQ location.”

To help fans of the DQ brand spread the word about Miracle Treat Day, the DQ system will have shareable social content fans can use to encourage everyone to make it an absolute priority to visit their nearest participating DQ location on MTD. Fans are encouraged to use #MiracleTreatDay when inviting others to join them in visiting a participating DQ location on Thursday, July 30. For more information about Miracle Treat Day, visit

For the first time ever, the Dairy Queen system will also be launching a national TV commercial in support of Miracle Treat Day. “We are doing all we can to make this year’s Miracle Treat Day the biggest ever,” Gainor says.
