Dairy Queen Giving Away Ultimate Oreo Frappés

The first weekend in September marks the unofficial end of summer. School is back in session and everyone is back to work the day after Labor Day. To celebrate a new season and give fans a pick-me-up, participating Dairy Queen locations are giving away one free small Ultimate Oreo Frappé per customer from 2 to 5 p.m. on September 6.

“This is the time of year when everyone gets a fresh start from the classroom to the football field,” says Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation. “None of us want summer to end, so at DQ we are easing the transition for our fans with a Free Frappé Giveaway.”

In a nod to baristas and specialty coffee servers, the DQ system will refer to their servers as DQ-ristas, during the Free Frappé Giveaway event.

The Ultimate Oreo Frappé is a combination of coffee, ice, and Oreo cookie pieces blended with creamy DQ signature vanilla soft serve and crowned with whipped topping and Oreo cookie pieces to create the perfect treat and afternoon pick-me-up. DQ Fans are encouraged to follow the event on their social channels at #DQFreeFrappe.

The Ultimate Oreo Frappé is one of several beverages served during the DQ system’s Hardest Working Happy Hour available weekdays at participating U.S. locations from 2 to 5 p.m. Fans can choose from a choice of a Mocha, Salted Caramel or Vanilla flavored Iced Coffee; Oreo, Caramel Chip or Midnight Mocha Ultimate Frappés; and Strawberry Banana, Tripleberry, and Mango Pineapple Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies. The small flavored Iced Coffees are only $1, and the small, blended to perfection new DQ Ultimate Frappés and small Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies are just $2 weekdays from 2 to 5 p.m. at participating locations. While the beverages are available all day, they are value priced only during Happy Hour.
