John Cappasola is joining the Del Taco’s marketing team as vice president of marketing development, a new position at the brand. In this new role, Cappasola will be responsible for planning, testing and executing all marketing programs, including promotions, product introductions, and he will be part of the planning team developing the marketing calendar. He also will be responsible for field marketing, including supporting the opening of new restaurants, markets and competitive intelligence.

Before joining Del Taco, Cappasola spent 16 years with Blockbuster in market sales development, field marketing and in various operational, strategic and concept development disciplines.

Brian Moriarty was promoted to senior director of brand marketing and advertising. Moriarty, who has been with Del Taco for more than five years, most recently led field marketing and corporate communications. In his new role, Moriarty will drive Del Taco’s strategic planning and execution of the company’s advertising and promotions.

Cappasola and Moriarty will report to Sharon Fogg, senior vice president of marketing.
