Beginning today, the Crispy Shrimp Taco is returning to the Del Taco menu for a limited time. To celebrate its return, Del Taco is offering a coupon for a free Crispy Shrimp Taco with any purchase through its Facebook page.

“The Crispy Shrimp Taco has become one of our most requested limited time menu items,” says John Cappasola, vice president of marketing at Del Taco. “Our fans are going to be excited to hear that they can get one for free with their next purchase through our Facebook fan page.”

The Crispy Shrimp Taco will also be making a guest appearance on a new episode of the Del Taco Super Special Show, which begins airing on Facebook today. Wes and Barry are back and numerous vignettes have been added, including a mermaid who devours her shrimp schoolmate and a cantankerous captain right off the shrimp boat, and introducing two recurring skits, the Taco Diaries and Sauce Packet Theatre.

The Crispy Shrimp Tacos feature shrimp dipped in a lime chili batter, shredded cabbage, secret sauce, salsa and a lime wedge, and sells for $1.89. The meal deal sells for $5.99 and includes two Crispy Shrimp Tacos, crinkle cut fries, and a drink. Del Taco is also bringing back two seasonal seafood offerings – shrimp and fries and fish and fries. The meal deal includes 10 pieces of shrimp and fries or two pieces of fish and fries with a drink for $4.99.

Del Taco first introduced seafood tacos with the launch of the Crispy Fish Taco in 2005. The taco is made with a hand-breaded fish fillet, cabbage, salsa, and secret sauce.
