Everything is bigger in Texas and this year Dickey’s Barbecue has gone “big” on franchise sales.
The world’s largest barbecue franchise has sold 138 new franchises to date in 2012 and is on course to open 100 new stores this year, with franchise sales up 21 percent.
“Dickey’s is recognized across the nation as a proven concept offering extensive training, ongoing operations support, and energized marketing programs that guide our franchise owners’ success,” says Roland Dickey, Jr., president of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants. “Our explosive growth over the last two years shows we are on the right track as a brand, and there is no stopping our growth potential.”
Dickey’s Barbecue has sealed $1.67 million in new deals this year with several multiunit agreements, including in Minnesota, Washington, Montana, Arkansas, and Texas.
The brand sold 43 new franchises in the third quarter alone. The fast-casual brand has almost 270 restaurants, with plans to reach 300 by year-end.
“With every new restaurant, we are creating jobs for real estate brokers, construction companies, and of course the city itself,” says Richard Phillips, vice president of development. “We are thrilled with the progress and know the interest comes from the fact that people see we are a growing and vibrant brand focused on creating a strong presence in the industry.”
In 2011, Dickey’s added more than 80 stores and is planning to add 100 new locations nationwide in 2012.
