District Taco announced a year of significant growth, innovation, and franchise development. As 2024 begins, the brand looks forward to continued growth and paving the way for industry success.
In 2023, District Taco not only met its franchise development goals, but surpassed them by opening two units and signing three new franchise development agreements for the NY, NJ, and Florida markets. District Taco focused on operational achievements, completing its first financial audit with Deloitte, and began alpha testing a new proprietary data warehouse and analytics platform developed by their in-house engineering team. Internally, District Taco continues to grow their support team by hiring new employees to facilitate franchise growth including a director of store design, and director of real estate development. In recognition of District Taco’s success, the fast-casual restaurant made QSR Magazine’s annual 40/40 list of America’s hottest startup fast-casual restaurants. Looking forward, District Taco will open at least 6 locations this year in East Coast markets, and expects to reach 150 total units by 2030.
“Since 2022, we’ve signed five development deals, and currently have over 70 units in development,” says president and Chief Operating Officer for District Taco, Chris Medhurst. “The interest we’re getting from multi-unit franchisees of other brands is amazing, and it’s great affirmation for our team that this brand’s momentum is just starting to build.”
As the fast-casual industry evolves, District Taco has continued to focus on serving clean, fresh, and authentic Mexican food. With a commitment to locally sourced, high-quality ingredients and eco-friendly packaging, District Taco aligns with consumer preferences for responsible and mindful dining. Similarly, with a menu crafted to accommodate various dietary preferences, including vegetarian and vegan options, District Taco has met the growing demand for healthier choices. District Taco aims to lead the way in providing a unique and sustainable dining experience in 2024.
“Consumers are becoming more and more environmentally conscious and health-focused,” adds District Taco CEO, Osiris Hoil. “By embracing sustainable practices and promoting transparency in our sourcing methods, District Taco has not only met the expectations of environmentally conscious consumers, but also contributes to a larger movement within the fast-casual industry towards responsible and mindful dining.”
District Taco is actively seeking franchise partners. Top candidates include multi-unit operators or senior restaurant professionals with experience operating five or more restaurants who are motivated to grow with an emerging franchise brand.
