Diversity Food Brands (DFB), an industry leading provider of resources and brands for the corporate, campus, healthcare and airport foodservice industry, today announces expansion plans for its propriety brand Sandella’s Flatbread Café. Currently operating in more than 50 locations in 25 states, DFB plans to add more than 12 locations in 2019.
Sandella’s first opened in 1994 and has since grown to become a popular dining option for college campuses and in airports across the U.S. The new locations will be located on college campuses, in airports, in health care facilities and in corporate dining services.
Sandella’s offers a fresh and healthy alternative to traditional fast food with flavors, convenience and value that consumers love. With a full, customizable menu of portable hot and cold sandwiches such as wraps, paninis, quesadillas and burritos, fresh salads, and rice and power blend bowls, Sandella’s has a menu item to satisfy every appetite.
All Sandella’s menu items are made to order using high quality, fresh and nutritious ingredients including vegetables, fruits and lean meats. Sandella’s has developed its own craveable flavor profile by using fresh herbs and handcrafted seasonings. The flexible footprint offers guests the option to dine on premises or order food to go.
Grilled flatbreads are Sandella’s healthier yet satisfying alternative to pizza. Starting with a hand-crafted signature flatbread then topped with a choice of cheese, meats and veggies, the flatbreads are grilled to perfection and always served in a box for easy transport.
For food service operators, Sandella’s kitchen design and reimaged prototype expand on its reputation of quality and flexibility. With a lower build out cost than other brands in this segment, Sandella’s capitalizes on its preparation system that allows hot food without an exhaust system.
Sandella’s flavor profile has sparked DFB to launch a line of propriety items now available to other restaurant brands. These include Sandella’s original and whole-wheat flatbreads, Sandella’s delicious fajita seasoning and the Sandella’s Brazilian sauce mix.
In addition to Sandella’s, DFB owns and operates Le Petit Bistro Café, a quick service dining experience that combines a European vibe with American food options. Le Petit Bistro services various dayparts with breakfast and specialty coffee, lunch, dinner, and snack menu items. A smaller footprint option, Le Petite Bistro Express offers the same delicious menu with a more “to-go” focus.
