Dog Haus introduced the T-Mex, a joint sausage creation by the gourmet hot dog concept and Texas’ own chef and restaurateur Dean Fearing. Fearing, who is also known as the “Father of Southwestern Cuisine,” is the next chef to team up with Dog Haus as part of their year-long collaboration series in partnership with No Kid Hungry. The T-Mex features a Tex-Mex inspired beef chorizo & pepper jack cheese sausage, topped with chipotle aioli & firecracker slaw, served on grilled King’s Hawaiian rolls. Guests can expect to see the T-Mex at all Dog Haus locations nationwide from September 4 – October 31, with $1 from each purchase benefitting No Kid Hungry.

“Dean Fearing is a legend down in Texas and us here at Dog Haus have been longtime fans of his southern cooking,” says Hagop Giragossian, Dog Haus Partner. “There’s no better way to celebrate Tex Mex flavors at our locations than with a menu item personally conceptualized by Dean.”

Working closely with Dog Haus’ Würstmacher Adam Gertler, Dean puts his culinary spin on the T-Mex sausage by infusing it with bold ingredients he predominantly cooks with including roasted jalapenos, roasted garlic and cilantro. Inspired by his family recipes and the finer details of southern cooking and barbeque, Fearing combined the flavors he’s known for in one dish for Dog Haus fans across the country.

“Dog Haus and I have always had something in common, which is cooking for people who love good food,” adds Fearing. “It was fun to create a dish I’ve never done before, and looks like a signature Dog Haus creation from the outside, but once you bite into it, all the Tex Mex flavors evolve.”

Fearing joins Dog Haus’ collaboration series following Chef Alex Seidel and previously Chef Ilan Hall, who officially became a member of the Dog Haus team this past May. To close out 2018, Dog Haus will enlist a partner duo, LA-based chef Chris Oh, and pastry chef Duff Goldman, for sweet and savory limited time offerings. By year end, Dog Haus’ goal is to raise $100,000 for No Kid Hungry.

To celebrate the series and continue its efforts to help No Kid Hungry end childhood hunger in America, Dog Haus will be hosting a silent auction and charity event bringing together the culinary talent, public, and key No Kid Hungry representatives. Dog Haus Cares 2018 will be held at Santa Anita racetrack’s iconic and exclusive Chandelier Room in December. varying by location.
