American Dairy Queen Corporation recently announced plans to bring a DQ Grill & Chill restaurant to Greenacres, Florida. Set to open in November, the restaurant will be located at 4828 Lake Worth Road.
The restaurant will be locally owned and operated under the ownership of GL Melby LLC. Michael Becker will also be involved with the new restaurant, bringing 15-plus years of experience in the food service industry and his 6 years as a partner with Dairy Queen.
“The entire leadership team involved with the Greenacres location have years of experience in the restaurant space and with customer service – we know what makes a successful brand and the fact that Dairy Queen emulates comfort and pure joy for its fans aligned with our idea for the Greenacres community,” says Becker, Multi-Unit Manager with Dairy Queen. “After 6 years with the brand, I’m still drawn to the emphasis DQ places on creating an experience for its fans. I’m thrilled to be involved in expanding the brand’s footprint and bring another signature restaurant concept to South Florida.”
In addition to GL Melby LLC and Becker, Danielle Walinski will handle daily operations as the general manager at the DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in Greenacres. She has extensive experience with the DQ® brand and has worked in restaurants located in Wisconsin and Florida.
The forthcoming DQ Grill & Chill location features a modern, open-air grill, separate “Grill” and “Chill” sections, comfortable booths, large wooden tables, warm lighting and upbeat music. What began as the 10-cent sale of an unknown frozen treat in 1938 quickly boomed into one of the most well-known companies of all time. Maintaining its recipe for success throughout nearly 80 years, the Dairy Queen system has more than 7,000 locations worldwide and implementing its plan to add more than 70 new restaurants in the United States for 2019.
The brand is targeting 10 growth markets including: Sacramento, California; Baltimore; Orlando, Florida; Milwaukee; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Memphis, Tennessee; Albany, New York; Fresno, California; Charlotte, North Carolina; and New Orleans. Beyond these U.S. target markets, ADQ is franchising in territories across Canada and other international countries.
