Two new DQ Grill and Chill restaurants have opened in service plazas on the eastern end of the Ohio Turnpike. Each restaurant is 625 square feet, with 40 employees, contributing to 80 new jobs in New Springfield, Ohio.
The new restaurants also will contribute to the state’s restaurant sales, which, according to the National Restaurant Association, are projected to increase by 3.6 percent this year.
“We are excited to open two new DQ Grill & Chill restaurants in convenient locations in New Springfield,” says Sam Covelli of Covelli Enterprises, Inc. “We welcome the community in to enjoy our full menu of crave-able food items, cool treats, and Orange Julius drinks.”
The DQ Grill & Chill food menu features the quarter- and half-pound GrillBurger, made to order, as well as items like deli-style Iron Grilled Sandwiches. Other menu offerings include Grilled or Crispy Chicken Sandwiches and Salads; Chicken Strip Baskets; Shrimp Baskets; Quesadillas; and Chili Cheese Dogs.
A new deal is the $5 Buck Lunch, available daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at participating locations. Fans have a choice of a quarter-pound GrillBurger with cheese, 3-piece Chicken Strip Lunch, or a Chili Cheese Dog, which are all served with fries, a beverage, and choice of a sundae.
For just $1 more, fans also will have the option to upgrade their small sundae to a small Blizzard Treat. The offer may vary in Texas.
Complementing the “Grill” is the “Chill,” with the traditional Dairy Queen soft-serve treats. Along with all of the DQ favorites, such as the signature Blizzard Treats, MooLatté frozen blended coffee beverages, and waffle bowl sundaes and cones, fans can choose from a variety of fruit-blended beverages, including delicious Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies and now Orange Julius Light Smoothies.
All Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies, Light Smoothies, and Julius Original drinks are available in eight flavors, including Orange, Strawberry, Strawberry Banana, Tripleberry, Mango Pineapple, Berry-Pom, OrangeBerry, and Piña Colada. Protein or banana boosts can be added.
The Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies are made fresh to order with real fruit blended with low-fat yogurt. The Orange Julius Light Smoothies are 170 calories or less in a small size, contain no artificial sweeteners or flavors, and are yogurt free.
The DQ Grill & Chill restaurant is highlighted by an open-air grill and separate “Grill” and “Chill” sections. Seating is available inside the travel plaza.
