The Dairy Queen system, part of Berkshire Hathaway, today invited Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and the entire team to celebrate their NFC Championship victory at their local Dairy Queen restaurant. The invitation was sparked by Wall Street Journal reporter Jason Gay, who recently wrote that Carroll “has the energy of a man who appears to want very badly to treat all of his guys to postgame Dairy Queen.”

“We are thrilled that the Dairy Queen brand is so well-known and beloved that it resonates with the media,” says Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation. “We have always believed that DQ is a special place to celebrate all victories, and thanks to Jason’s article, we’d like to extend an invitation to Coach Carroll and the entire team to enjoy their favorite DQ treats and food as our guests.”

Not to leave out their Super Bowl opponent, Dairy Queen also extended an invitation to the Denver Broncos. “Our Orange Julius brand has made the sports pages as well this year when Broncos tight end Julius Thomas was quickly nicknamed ‘Orange Julius Thomas,’” Westrum says. “He might want to come in and try our Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies or Orange Julius Light Smoothies. The entire food and treat menu is open to both teams. After all, we are fan food.”

There are more than 5,100 Dairy Queen restaurants located throughout the U.S., including in Seattle and Denver.
