DTT Grows Partnership with Dunkin’ Donuts Franchisee

DTT has announced a strengthened partnership with First Cup LLC, a 60-store Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee based in Chandler, Arizona. With locations throughout Arizona, California, Colorado, and Nevada, DTT provides comprehensive loss prevention and managed services for 30 First Cup stores with several installations pending.

First Cup’s introduction to DTT took place in late 2013, as the company was highly impressed with the range of DTT’s services and sophisticated technology. In March 2015, DTT was added to Dunkin’ Brands’ U.S. list of vendors, and First Cup contacted DTT within a week to sign 60 existing locations and all new construction stores. The rollout is still underway in order to work around First Cup remodeling and ensure a smooth transition from the previous surveillance provider.

The company takes full advantage of the cloud-based MyDTT portal, utilizing the case management section to organize information, archive video, and share relevant documentation relating to liability issues such as worker’s comp claims, slip and falls, and other critical incidents.

“I was one of those franchisees that complain about the cost of loss prevention, especially when it pertained to the ROI,” says Alex Apodaca, COO of First Cup. “However, when I took a deeper look at DTT’s proposal and how much we were getting for our investment, it was a no-brainer. We were spending the same amount on our previous vendor but getting no services and minimal support. DTT’s technology is incredible; I was immediately drawn to the SmartAudits, which have helped us with a number of instances of theft. In addition, it’s been helpful to identify our specific service issues like improper greetings, slow preparation times, and lack of suggestive selling and quality control.”

“It’s always very exciting when a franchise goes full steam and signs up a large number of locations from the get-go,” says Tom Moran, executive vice president of sales and marketing for DTT. “First Cup gets a lot out of the system because they take advantage of every tool we offer. We made various updates to MyDTT last summer, and First Cup was one of the first to give us positive feedback on RISAPLUS, which enables users to view archived video directly on the portal without downloading any files. I look forward to seeing how the DTT system continues to benefit the First Cup enterprise.”
