Duck Donuts Franchising Company announced Gary McAneney, formerly chief operating officer, has been promoted to the newly created position of president, effective immediately. The company also announced it has promoted Betsy Hamm, formerly marketing director, to chief operating officer.
In McAneney’s role as president, he will establish and oversee the company’s goals and strategies. In addition, he will lead a new company initiative to aggregate and analyze store key results and industry trends, as well as oversee new business development and construction/design. Hamm will oversee operations and marketing, focusing on daily operations to provide the necessary tools and resources that will positively impact sales and growth of franchisees. Hamm and McAneney will report to Russ DiGilio, founder and CEO of Duck Donuts Franchising Company.

McAneney, who joined Duck Donuts Franchising Company in 2015, has more than 25 years of experience in both the food service and venue management business. He started his career with Aramark Food Services, before joining SMG in 1994. As SMG’s senior vice president of finance, Gary was involved in contract negotiation, new business development, corporate wide vendor programs, as well as many other company initiatives. Gary graduated from Ursinus College and is involved in coaching youth sports.
Hamm joined Duck Donuts as the marketing director in 2016, overseeing all aspects of marketing, specifically focusing on actively developing and executing marketing strategies to raise awareness and grow the expanding Duck Donuts brand. Previously, she spent nearly 15 years at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, playing an integral role in launching large-scale branding initiatives ranging from multi-million dollar roller coasters to fully integrated, multi-platform marketing campaigns. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Shippensburg University and loves to spend her time with her family and raising her two daughters.
