Dunkin’ Brands Group, Inc., the parent company of Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins, announced the appointment of David Mann as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. He will serve on the company’s leadership team and will report directly to Dave Hoffmann, Dunkin’ Brands CEO and Dunkin’ U.S. President. Mann replaces Rich Emmett, who is retiring as Chief Legal and Human Resources Officer from the Company.

Before joining Dunkin’ Brands, Mann was Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Marriott International, a leading global hospitality company that manages and franchises a broad portfolio of hotels and lodging facilities. Mann joined Marriott in 1995 and held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility in the legal department, including serving as General Counsel for the company’s Ritz-Carlton division and as Marriott’s Corporate Secretary. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in helping transform and expand the company’s product offerings and global footprint. This included leading the Marriott legal team in a number of acquisitions, product offerings and joint ventures, including the company’s landmark $13 billion acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2016.

“I am pleased to welcome David Mann to Dunkin’ Brands and our leadership team,” says Dave Hoffmann, Dunkin’ Brands CEO and Dunkin’ U.S. president. “A seasoned legal executive with extensive global management experience, David’s legal acumen, dedication to talent development and deep understanding of the franchised business model will be invaluable to us as we continue to drive our brands forward around the world.”

“I am delighted to be joining Dunkin’ Brands, a company with two of the world’s best-loved brands and premier franchising concepts,” adds Mann. “I look forward to working with the leadership team, the members of the legal department and the franchisee community to better serve our customers around the world.”

Prior to joining Marriott, Mann practiced corporate and securities law at Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld from 1988 through 1995. He earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School.
