Dunkin’ Donuts has opened a new restaurant at the Red Cross National Headquarters Building, 2025 E Street, NW, in Washington, D.C.
With this opening in the historic landmark building, Dunkin’ Donuts continues its strategic expansion throughout the nation’s capital, with plans to open a total of 60 new restaurants over the next five years, increasing the brand’s presence in the region by approximately 50 percent.
The new Dunkin’ Donuts location will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will employ approximately 10 crewmembers. The restaurant is 420 square feet and will feature comfortable seating for approximately 12 guests with contemporary furniture. To provide an engaging and friendly environment for guests, the new restaurant will also offer free Wi-Fi Internet access and contemporary music.
Dunkin’ Donuts has a long-standing relationship with the American Red Cross. For several years, the two organizations have teamed up in select cities throughout the country for the “Give a Pint, Get a Pound” campaign, which provides a coupon for a free pound of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee to donors at Red Cross blood drives in January in celebration of National Blood Donor Month. The campaign has achieved great success, as Dunkin’ Donuts has provided more than 350,000 pounds of coffee to presenting donors.
In addition, Dunkin’ Brands, Inc. and the Dunkin’ Donuts Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation have donated more than $175,000 in recent years to the American Red Cross to support the organization and its relief efforts across the United States and around the world.
"We are proud to open a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant in the Red Cross National Headquarters Building,” says Hank Huth, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee. “Our newest location represents our great partnership with the American Red Cross, as well as our commitment to keep more and more people who live and work in Washington, D.C., running with our high-quality coffee, baked goods, and snacks, all delivered fast in a friendly environment and at an affordable price.”
