Edward Don & Company, a nationwide distributor of foodservice equipment and supplies, announced the opening of a new distribution center in Auburn, Washington. The 157,000 square foot facility is fully operational, run by a staff of approximately 80 employees and features state-of-the-art technology while housing over 7,000 stocked items with inventory expected to increase in the future.
Planning for the new distribution center began shortly after Edward Don & Company acquired Kent, Washington-based Smith & Greene Company in January of 2018.
“This is a multi-phase rollout that has been carefully planned and executed over the past year,” says Mike Bartoszek, Vice President of Operations for Edward Don & Company. “It allows us to ensure that our customers experience a seamless transition without any risk of service interruptions.”
“We are excited at the chance to augment our already strong nationwide presence while also focusing on continued growth in the future as well,” says Steve Don, CEO of Edward Don & Company. “The increased presence in the Pacific Northwest market provides tremendous advantages. We’ll have increased exposure to a vibrant market as well as a springboard into western Canada.”
“Everyone at Smith & Greene is very excited to be a fully integrated part of Edward Don & Company,” adds Garrett Mullen, co-president of Smith & Greene. “The much larger space allows us to offer our customers a broader selection of products, including a full range of equipment, smallwares, disposables and janitorial products.”
Brad Smith, co-president of Smith & Greene, adds: “The Smith & Greene team is thrilled to be opening the new Northwest distribution center in conjunction with our integration with Edward Don & Company. The added square footage and technology advances in the distribution center will allow us to better service our existing customers while bringing new opportunities to our team.”
The Auburn, Washington facility is Edward Don & Company’s seventh and latest addition to its national distribution network.
