Denver-based The Egg & I Restaurants announces the opening of its 50th location on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011. The restaurant opens at 6 a.m. in Omaha, Nebraska, at 2855 S. 168th St. on the southwest corner of West Center Road in the Armbrust Village Shopping Center.
On Dec. 11, the restaurant will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from its private, pre-opening training day to The Food Bank for the Heartland. The mission of The Food Bank for the Heartland is to eliminate hunger in Nebraska and western Iowa through community collaboration and making the best possible use of available resources.
“We are excited to partner with this newest The Egg & I Restaurant in Omaha and are grateful for their support,” says Cindy Hansen, spokesperson for The Food Bank of the Heartland.
On Dec. 12, The Egg & I Restaurant of Omaha is giving its first two dozen guests one free breakfast every week for one year.
“I’ve heard that some people plan to camp out overnight in order to be among the first two dozen guests through the doors when we open at 6 a.m.,” says Quana Floyd, general manager of the new The Egg & I Restaurant. “The Omaha community has already welcomed us with open arms, and we can’t wait to become more involved and meet more friends. We also are pleased our new restaurant is creating 50 new jobs in Omaha.”
