Einstein Bros. Letting Competitors Eat Free to Celebrate New App

Einstein Bros. Bagels recognizes that being the first doesn’t always mean you’re the best. Consumers have been busy redeeming offers through other restaurant brand’s mobile apps and reward programs, while the nation’s leading bagel brand worked to perfect a program that empowers guests to choose the rewards they want. To celebrate the launch of its new, Shmear Society Rewards program and mobile app, Einstein Bros. Bagels is issuing a first-of-its-kind offer that allows guests to redeem a free bagel and shmear with purchase on Aug. 15 to anyone who shows a restaurant brand’s mobile app on their device.

“Our guests have asked us for it and the time has finally come for them to receive the added value rewards they deserve,” says Leigh Anne Snider, Einstein Bros. Bagels president. “Now, those who choose to brighten their mornings with us can take advantage of special offers and surprise and delight deals through our Shmear Society Rewards program and mobile app.”

Guests who show a restaurant brand’s mobile app on Aug. 15 to receive a free bagel and shmear with purchase will also be encouraged to download the Einstein Bros.® Bagels app and sign up for the Shmear Society Rewards program during their visit. Current Shmear Society Rewards members who use the app to check-in to their favorite Einstein Bros. Bagels store on offer day will also receive a free bagel and shmear deal in their account for future redemption

Through Einstein Bros. Bagels’ Shmear Society Rewards program, members will be eligible to enjoy a free egg sandwich with purchase on their birthday and two points for every $1 spent in-store, which can be redeemed at any time for food and beverages at participating locations. In addition to the Shmear Society Rewards program, Einstein Bros. Bagels’ mobile app provides maximum convenience by giving guests the freedom to pay for their order directly through the app.
