The culinary experts at El Pollo Loco have taken a traditional pork dish and given it a tasty new poultry twist. Beginning today through the middle of May 2009, El Pollo Loco will offer Chicken Carnitas available four different ways, starting at $1.79.
The taco combines El Pollo Loco’s tasty new Chicken Carnitas with chopped onion and cilantro piled in warm corn tortillas, while the bowl is a tasty version of El Pollo Loco’s original Pollo Bowl with plenty of Chicken Carnitas served with onion, cilantro, and Pico de Gallo salsa atop Spanish rice and pinto beans. The burrito combines El Pollo Loco’s Chicken Carnitas with guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo salsa in a warm flour tortilla, and the Chicken Carnitas plate features a generous portion of Chicken Carnitas accompanied by Spanish rice, pinto beans, warm tortillas, and freshly prepared salsa. Additionally, guests can personalize El Pollo Loco’s Chicken Carnitas entrees with any combination of salsas from El Pollo Loco’s complimentary salsa bar.

El Pollo Loco will advertise its limited time Chicken Carnitas entrees to consumers through a multimedia campaign. General market and Spanish-language television spots will appear in select West Coast markets beginning Feb. 2, 2009. Additionally, a wide mix of point-of-purchase vehicles will be used, including window clings, translites, and other in-restaurant and drive-thru communication.
