El Pollo Loco announced that it will serve two varieties of fish tacos from Jan. 29 to mid-April, 2011.

The two tacos — the Classic Baja Fish Taco and the Spicy Avocado Fish Taco — feature crispy beer-battered Alaskan white fish wrapped in corn tortillas and topped with shredded cabbage and fresh cilantro.

The tacos will also feature yogurt sauce mixed with either the signature house salsa or the avocado salsa.  

"Limited-time menu offerings like our fish tacos give us opportunities to provide our guests exciting new ways to enjoy the taste of El Pollo Loco," says Mark Hardison, vice president of marketing.

The menu item will be available individually or as a combo with a choice of any two fish tacos and a small drink.

The chain will communicate the limited-time offer to consumers through a multimedia campaign, including general market and Spanish-language television spots that will appear in select West Coast markets beginning Feb. 7.

In addition, a mix of point-of-purchase marketing items will be used, including window clings, translites, and other in-restaurant and drive-thru communication.
