Emerson announced it has released the new Cooper-Atkins 20200 Multi-Function Thermometer (MFT). The MFT can transmit temperatures wirelessly to a compatible mobile device via Bluetooth Low Energy, reducing power consumption.

The thermometer has an easy-to-read LCD display and utilizes any Cooper-Atkins type-K thermocouple temperature probe, making it versatile for insertion, air or surface temperature measurement. It has a temperature range of -100 to 1,000 F (-73 to 538 C) and an accuracy range of ± 0.5 F (± 0.3 C) at ambient between 68 to 86 F (20 to 30 C). The collected temperature data can be processed via a supplied application program interface (API) by a variety of compatible third-party apps.

In addition to the MFT’s Bluetooth 4.2 compatibility, other key features of this rugged and durable instrument are its IPX7 waterproof rating, which allows it to be submerged up to 1 meter in water for 30 minutes, and its open-field radio frequency range of 100 feet, which allows greater distance between devices when in pairing mode. The MFT also offers customers the advantage of over-the-air firmware updates, eliminating the inconvenience of returning it to the manufacturer for a software update.

“This new MFT adds to our already robust portfolio, providing temperature data collection,” says Cherylann Hunt, director of product solutions, Cooper-Atkins, Emerson. “It includes the Bluetooth technology we expect from today’s electronic devices, helping to expand connectivity in the food industries we serve.”

Cooper-Atkins, an Emerson Commercial and Residential Solutions business, is the leading provider of environmental measuring and monitoring solutions for customers in the foodservice, food processing and health care industries.
