Everbowl is a rapidly expanding new option in Southern California’s fast-casual, healthy food scene featuring a streamlined counter-service menu of build-your-own acai and other “craft superfood” bowls and smoothies. Everbowl started as a singular operation in October 2016 but today is operating 10 locations around San Diego and Riverside county, primarily in suburban pockets and shopping centers that cater to local families. This summer, Everbowl will open six new locations in Encinitas, Menifee, Mission Valley, San Elijo Hills, SDSU and Carmel Valley. The Everbowl team will operate upwards of 20 outposts by the end of 2018, with no plans to slow down expansion.
Each Everbowl location offers a focused quick-serve menu of “craft superfoods” – fresh fruit-laden, layered parfaits that allow the consumer to choose from one of four superfood base options: acai, pitaya, graviola or acerola. Customers can choose the liquid which is blended into the base and select from an extensive list of fruit toppings to create a custom bowl with healthy “super stuff” add-ins such as spirulina and bee pollen. Each bowl is priced at $8, and includes unlimited ingredients. They also offer smoothies, as well as a focused menu of grab-and-go salads
Founded by passionate healthy lifestyle advocate and San Diego serial entrepreneur Jeff Fenster, Everbowl is looking to up the ante when it comes to accessible healthy food options. Their aggressive expansion plan is fueled by an in-house construction arm that facilitates the efficient opening of each location. Plans for the future include opening Everbowl locations even further outside of the region. Fenster envisions an eventual national footprint.
“As a parent and fitness enthusiast, I wanted to be on the right side of history when it comes to encouraging healthy eating habits,” says Fenster. “I decided to open Everbowl locations in multiple, high traffic areas to ensure that everyone has the ability to access superfoods, fresh fruits and vegetables in the hopes that consumers will integrate these foods into their everyday lives.”
Everbowl is currently operating in ten locations throughout San Diego and Riverside County including Poway, San Marcos, Rancho Penasquitos, Escondido, Bonita, Scripps Ranch, Temecula, Oceanside and Santee. The company currently employs over 275 people and each new store opened will create an additional 20 jobs. With 10 locations, they currently sell over 50,000 bowls per month.
