    Industry News | June 9, 2008

SKS Healthy Foods will bring the EVOS brand of healthier burgers, fries, and shakes to the Triangle this summer. The first EVOS restaurant in North Carolina is set to open in the EastgateShopping Center in Chapel Hill on July 11.

Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, EVOS offers a full menu of burgers, fries, and shakes that have 50-70 percent less fat and calories without sacrificing taste. EVOS meats and Airfries are cooked in specialty ovens rather than greasy grills or deep-fryers. This process allows customers to enjoy fries with 50-70 percent less fat. EVOS uses naturally raised, free-range beef and organic ingredients.

EVOS’ American Champion burger contains only 12 grams of fat, 420 calories, and zero cholesterol.  Other fast food burgers can deliver as much as 57 grams of fat, 850 calories, and loads of cholesterol. A regular serving of EVOS fries contains 8 grams of fat and 230 calories. Other traditional fast food fries can contain 23 grams of fat and 472 calories. EVOS’ Organic Vanilla milkshakes have only 2.5 grams of fat and 180 calories, while traditional fast food shakes contain as much as 44 grams of fat and almost 800 calories.

Also on the menu are a variety of other healthy options, including wraps and salads.

SKS Healthy Foods is a master developer of EVOS franchises and has agreed to build a minimum of 21 EVOS locations in North Carolina and metro Atlanta in the next five years.

The Chapel Hill restaurant is located at
