Global pizza brand Famous Famiglia announces its latest opening in Harlem on Lexington Avenue at the corner of historic 125th Street. This opening marks the 30th Famous Famiglia location in New York. As part of a company tradition, Famous Famiglia will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Congressman Charles Rangel on Friday, March 20th at 11 a.m. The total first day’s sales will be presented to Harlem Hospital Center at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The donation will go towards the Harlem Hospital Modernization Fund, which will help renovate and construct the campus’ patient pavilions and parking garage.
“Harlem is happy to be home to such a New York institution like Famous Famiglia,” says Congressman Charles Rangel. “They are not just providing good food but also job opportunities to local residents. These jobs and the company’s donation to Harlem Hospital will go a long way in helping our community get through these tough economic times.”
The Kolaj brothers opened their first Famous Famiglia pizzeria in August of 1986 in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Over the years they were able to develop a strong local brand before entering into new markets such as airports, malls, universities, and travel plazas. As part of a company-wide tradition, Famous Famiglia is proud to donate total first day’s sales to a local charity or hospital from each new location. Famous Famiglia is also actively involved in the communities in which it serves, and has been recognized throughout the New York area by various organizations for its philanthropic and grassroots involvement.
