Fatburger, the Hollywood-based burger joint, opened its second location in one of Istanbul’s main business districts, Levent. The fast-food establishment was brought to the city by Universal Food Company, a franchise partner, which also operates a unit in Kuwait in addition to the other Istanbul location situated on Istiklal Street in Taksim Square.
As a leader in the international better burger market, Fatburger has sought to bring its made-to-order burgers to new areas throughout the world. Currently operating in 27 countries with approximately half of its locations based overseas, the burger franchise recently opened new restaurants in Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia and Cairo, Egypt. Fatburger has over 300 units under development in such regions as the U.S., Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa.
“With such a positive response from our first Istanbul location, we are confident that we will experience the same level of success with our second unit,” says CEO of Fatburger, Andy Wiederhorn. “We are excited to offer our All-American burger experience at another location in Turkey’s largest city and plan to continue to expand our presence throughout the country in the coming years.”
