Flatbread Takes Flight

Abe Dortheimer and his company, Silver Lining, have franchised with Sandella’s Flatbread Café to bring a new unit in Terminal B1 of Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.

Dortheimer plans to open his Sandella’s location by the summer of 2009 and has operated several other concepts in the airport including Wetzel’s Pretzels, Pizzeria Uno Express, and A & W Hamburgers.

Sandella’s Flatbread Café is a fast-casual concept with more than 125 locations open nationwide, including a brand new store in Hollywood, California, and a new franchise development agent for Boston and New Hampshire. Sandella’s isn’t slowing down with 400 restaurants in development across the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates.

Restaurants average 1,000-1,500 square feet and seat 30 to 40 guests.
