Grecian Delight Foods, one of the country’s leading producers of Mediterranean-inspired foods, is adding to its already strong R&D team with the appointment of food scientist Tonia Rawson. Rawson will focus on innovation and new product development for the company’s growing bakery category.

Rawson is expected to take projects from concept through to commercialization for the company’s retail and foodservice bakery products. She will focus on projects such as line extensions for core flatbread brands and for private label. In addition, she will develop specifications for new products. Rawson will also provide support to the sales team serving Grecian Delight Foods’ national chain customers and industrial accounts.

Rawson has extensive experience as a product development scientist specializing in bakery and snack products, with previous positions at Sara Lee Corporation, Kellogg Company, and Galloway Company. She holds a B.S in Food Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and is completing an M.S. in Food Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana.

“We are delighted to have a scientist of Tonia’s capabilities and experience join our team at a time when we are experiencing double-digit growth in the flatbread category,” says Grecian Delight Foods president Peter Parthenis, Jr. “We have always been innovation and quality oriented, and her expertise will be invaluable as we continue to develop new products to meet market demand.”
