Joe Gordon has been promoted to senior vice president of supply chain at SpenDifference, a chain restaurant purchasing cooperative.

Gordon, who joined SpenDifference earlier this year, has more than 18 years of experience in his field. Most recently, he was vice president of supply chain management for Noodles & Company, the fast-casual restaurant chain headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado.

Before that, he was senior supply chain category and program manager for Wendy’s International in Columbus, Ohio.

“Joe’s holistic approach to purchasing and supply chain management makes him very valuable to our clients as they look for every possible way to be more efficient and save money,” says Maryanne Rose, SpenDifference president and CEO.

In his new role, Gordon is responsible for all aspects of operations, purchasing, and distribution, as well as client services.

“Chain restaurant purchasing co-ops are the wave of the future,” he says. “To compete with larger chains, emerging and mid-size restaurant companies need the unique expertise and buying power that we offer. With restaurant sales improving, this is a very exciting time to help our clients grow.”

Gordon, a certified purchasing manager, has an MBA from Colorado State University and a bachelor’s degree in production and operations management from Ohio State University.
