Freebirds World Burrito will donate over 500 meals to UT Health Austin frontline staff and volunteers who are administering the COVID-19 vaccine to the Austin community. Donations of Freebirds’ popular burritos and bowls will be delivered on campus over the next three Fridays.

“At Freebirds, this is our way of saying thank-you to the heroic volunteers who are on the frontlines of this very important vaccine rollout,” says Alex Eagle, CEO at Freebirds World Burrito. “It’s always great to give back to our Austin community, since Freebirds is based here, but to reach this group of volunteers is an honor.”

Last week, Freebirds announced that the company will pay employees up to four hours of regular rate to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Freebirds has provided resources to employees at all 55 locations across Texas with instructions on how to pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine at their nearest vaccine hub.

Freebirds has implemented numerous safety measures as a result of the pandemic, including curbside pick-up and streamlined takeout at all 55 locations across Texas.  Freebirds uses certified Master Grillers at every restaurant to ensure their single-cut meats are marinated and grilled to perfection.
