On Monday, February 8, Chipotle Mexican Grill will shutter all its stores for several hours to conduct all-staff meetings related to food safety.
To help American consumers through these dark hours, healthy fast-casual food leader Freshii is offering a fiesta of half-priced Mexican-inspired menu items all day Monday. Freshii will discount all Mexican fare at its 200 participating locations in 80-plus cities in 15 countries.
Freshii invites Chipotle regulars—and customers of all other restaurant chains—to discover Freshii’s nutritious, chef-designed approach to Mexican food on February 8. Discounted items will be limited to one per customer. Participating menu items include:
- Pangoa Bowl: Brown rice, avocado, black beans, aged Cheddar, corn, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, lime wedge, fiery barbecue sauce
- Tex Mex Burrito: Brown rice, black beans, corn, avocado, aged Cheddar, pico de gallo, salsa
- Baja Burrito: Quinoa, avocado, red onions, cilantro, green onions, cabbage, salsa, pico de gallo
- Fiesta Salad and Wrap: Field greens, black beans, avocado, aged Cheddar, corn, pico de gallo, cilantro-lime vinaigrette
- Ranchero Breakfast Burrito: Scrambled eggs, avocado, black beans, aged Cheddar, cilantro, pico de gallo
“Like millions of other people, we at Freshii are big fans of Chipotle,” says Freshii founder and CEO Matthew Corrin. “Founded almost three decades, Chipotle has been a pioneer of fast-casual food. We figured the least we would do was look after their customers while Chipotle pauses to recalibrate.”
“If a few Chipotle customers fall in love with a Freshii menu item, we hope they’ll come back to both stores more often,” Corrin adds.
