April marks the one-year anniversary of the first franchise deal sold for Fro.Zen.Yo, the self-serve frozen yogurt brand. The first franchisee was restaurateur and former NBA champion Kevin Grevey.

This month also includes the addition of Zombie Coffee, a value added self-serve coffee co-brand that promises your coffee in two minutes or less.

The latest franchise deal brings Gary Bobcek and Aviel Halioua to the team. Their location will be in Rosslyn at the location of the previous News and Necessities site on 1736 Lynn Street.  They are projected to open by the beginning of the summer.

A manager of a Starbucks for nine years, Gary Bobcek loved the busy nature of the coffee shop, but knew that he wanted something of his own. 

“I love that I have discovered this concept at the beginning,” Bobcek says. “I’m so impressed with the leaders of this organization, and love that this product is something that everyone can enjoy. And it is healthy!”

His partner Aviel Halioua is also excited about the product, and feels that the self-serve model is perfect for this busy location.

A management team that brings considerable restaurant and retail experience to the table created the Fro.Zen.Yo concept, which is based on a self-serve a la carte format. The first Fro.Zen.Yo in Friendship Heights in Washington, D.C., to positive reviews. 

Fro.Zen.Yo has eight locations open in the D.C. metro area, with 15 additional franchises on the way. The company is in advanced conversations with prospective franchisees to bring the Fro.Zen.Yo brand to many other cities in the U.S. and overseas.
