Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill has teamed up with Colorado-based nonprofit First Descents to help support the organization’s internationally reaching adventure camps for young adult cancer fighters and survivors.

The Mediterranean restaurant concept is helping raise funds and awareness for First Descents through a series of efforts, including placing donation boxes near the registers at all Colorado and Maryland Garbanzo locations, and providing giveaways, samples, and volunteers for the nonprofit’s events.

“First Descents’ work with young adult cancer fighters and survivors is so inspiring, we felt drawn to join their cause and provide assistance in any way possible,” says Alon Mor, Garbanzo founder, president and CEO. “Our team initially became involved with First Descents in 2012, so it is exciting to grow our partnership into one that includes our employees and guests. We look forward to a long and beneficial collaboration.”

“First Descents has always viewed good healthy food, great people, a strong community, and an active lifestyle as ways to overcome cancer. As such, we truly believe in our partnership with Garbanzo, their staff, the amazing food they create, and the awesome culture they embody. Together, we're out living it,” explains Brad Ludden, First Descents founder and CEO.

In 2013, First Descents will host more than 40 programs in North America, South America, and Indonesia.
