Golden Chick, the popular Texas-based chicken legend that has prided itself on treating guests like family for nearly 50 years, announced the opening of its first Houston, Texas location on March 21 at 8910 Westheimer Road. Just two weeks later, a second Houston Golden Chick location will open at 2824 Spears Road.

In June 2015, Lee Sanders, expert restaurateur and managing general partner of Rocket Chicks LP, signed an area development agreement committing to the direct development and operation of Golden Chick restaurants and the sale of franchises to others in Houston and Beaumont. Lee and the entire Rocket Chicks team have a great deal of experience in the franchised restaurant space.

“We believe strongly in the Golden Chick brand and are thrilled to have the opportunity to aid its growth by breaking into the Houston market,” Sanders says. “Our first restaurant, situated on the northwest corner of Westheimer and Fondren, was specifically selected to build brand awareness and serve as our ‘flagship’ location for Houston, due to the exceptionally high traffic flow throughout the day. The Rocket Chicks team and our franchisee partners are ready to introduce Golden Chick to this area and look forward to opening new restaurants all across Houston and Beaumont.”

Golden Chick will duplicate its Dallas presence in the Houston market. The new Golden Chick locations will help fuel the Houston and Beaumont communities by providing an estimated 1,200 new jobs in these areas over the next decade.

The soon to open Houston Golden Chick location on Westheimer Road is currently hosting a Facebook contest, and the restaurant will award 80 lucky winners with free chicken for a year (#FreeChickenForAYear). Each winner will receive 52 free meal cards for Golden Chick’s most popular combo meal, which includes four Golden Tenders, choice of side, a hot yeast roll, and a beverage.

Golden Chick offers a variety of menu items, featuring its marinated Golden Fried Chicken and Golden Tenders, which are prepared in its proprietary marinating mixes and batters. Along with these items, it also offers some unique chef-inspired menu items that are only available at Golden Chick like hand-rubbed Golden Roast Chicken, gourmet chicken salad, and its Almost World Famous Hot Yeast Rolls.
