Good Times Restaurants Inc., operator of Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custard, a Colorado favorite quick-service restaurant chain best known for its fresh, high-quality, all-natural products, reaches fundraising milestone in longstanding partnership with the Rocky Mountain chapter of JDRF (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
Good Times has been a supporter of the JDRF for 14 years and, in that time the company has hit an incredible milestone of $420,000 donations to the organization. The funds raised within the partnership with Good Times will contribute to JDRF’s primary goal, finding a cure to Type 1 Diabetes. The autoimmune disease strikes both children and adults suddenly, is unrelated to diet and lifestyle, and requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing and a lifelong dependence on injected insulin.
“The JDRF is an organization that is very near and dear to our hearts,” says Boyd Hoback, CEO of Good Times Restaurants Inc. “It’s always great when we can support a deserving cause and seeing that every dollar we can raise for JDRF goes towards directly toward a cure for Type 1 Diabetes makes it that much more gratifying.”
Good Times raises money for JDRF primarily through an annual coupon book campaign. Coupon books are available for purchase at each store location. The book sells for $1 per book and includes $21 worth of coupons for the restaurant. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the books go directly to JDRF. The restaurant also aids the JDRF by providing breakfast burritos for the volunteers and VIP walkers at the annual Denver JDRF One Walk that raises money to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar, which is owned by Good Times Restaurants Inc., also helped the cause by donating three private tasting dinners to the 2015 JDRF Dream Gala.
“We value all of our contributors and we are especially proud to partner with Good Times as they have been extremely generous over the years,” says Rachel LeClere, Development Manager for JDRF. “The coupon books are always a big hit and they are a really fun way for the community to contribute to the JDRF, while getting to enjoy some great food. Every dollar helps in our mission to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, including supporting local research here in Colorado at locations like the Barbara Davis Center and other research hospitals.”
