Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs reached a significant growth milestone. Today, the leading sub sandwich franchise announced it’s first restaurant to surpass $1 million in annual sales across its system of more than 80 locations across the U.S.

The company’s top-performing restaurant is located in Lincoln, Nebraska, at 2712 Cornhusker Highway. It is owned by long-time Goodcents franchisees Jeff Barclay and Scott Ritter who opened the store in 2000.

“This is such an outstanding accomplishment for Jeff, Scott and their entire team in Lincoln,” said Scott Ford, president of Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs. “They have worked so hard and exemplify the Goodcents brand in so many great ways. They are always focused on going above and beyond to make our customers happy and generously giving back in their local community.”

Catering has played a significant role in the Cornhusker location growth, up more than 25 percent over last year. Another key driver was its promotion and adoption of Goodcents new online and mobile app ordering platform. This location also has one of the highest employee retention rates across the Goodcents Franchise System.

“This is a very exciting milestone for our team and the entire Goodcents Franchise System,” said Jeff Barclay, Goodcents franchise owner. “This is a brand we’ve always believed in and we are so appreciative for all of our loyal customers who have supported us over the years.”

Barclay and Ritter have been part of the Goodcents Franchise System since 1999, when they opened their first Goodcents restaurant at 4333 South 70th Street in Lincoln shortly after graduating college. Today, they own four Goodcents locations with the 5th location set to open Friday, December 15 at North 84th St. in Lincoln.

This year, Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs was voted the #1 sandwich shop as part of the ‘Best of Lincoln’ awards and Barclay was awarded the 2017 Enterprising Gambler Award from the Lincoln Independent Business Association (LIBA). Barclay and Ritter also won the Nebraska Restaurateur of the Year Award in 2016.
