With a little more than three months before this year’s Great American Dine Out, September 20-26, thousands more restaurants are needed to meet the effort’s 5,000-unit goal. To date, not quite 2,700 restaurants have said they want to participate in the week-long national event that raises funds for Share Our Strength, the leading national organization working to end childhood hunger in America. 2,478 units have officially registered and another 222 have made verbal commitments.
Participating restaurants include every segment, size and style. One-third are quick-service, including such notables as California Tortilla, Corner Bakery, McAlister’s Deli, Papa Murphy’s Take N Bake Pizza, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and Taco Bueno along with local operations like Pit Boss BBQ (Hapeville, Georgia), 1132 Café and Catering (Honolulu), Sandella’s Flatbread Café (Aliso Viejo, California), and Sargo’s Subs (Wood Village, Oregon).
Registration is open until September 1, 2009—go to www.GreatAmericanDineOut.org, sign up and then create your own way to participate.
