Tampa-based Green Market Cafe, a fast-casual restaurant group, is on track for continued growth with the Greater Tampa Bay region as first priority, says Andrew Koumi, owner.

Green Market Café currently has five locations, all in Tampa Bay. The first location opened in Oldsmar in 2010. It specializes in fresh and flavorful menu items.

“Our second franchise opening is scheduled for late this month in Seminole, Fla.,” says Koumi. “We are focused on opening other franchise locations soon in the Tampa Bay area, including Wesley Chapel, New Tampa, Brandon and Sarasota.

The franchise initiative is through Green Market Café Franchise Development. In addition to Koumi, Nick Vojnovic, who is also president of Little Greek Fresh Grill/Little Greek Franchise Development, leads it.

“We also have our eyes set on additional locations in Central Florida,” adds Koumi. “Once we expand our footprint in Tampa Bay, we will focus on Central Florida.”

According to Koumi, he got inspiration for Green Market Café while a student at the University of Florida. He was frustrated on not finding fresh and healthier food. He says the food philosophy is composed of three simple concepts: sustainability, balanced nutrition and always-fresh ingredients.
