Häagen-Dazs Lowers Summer Price of Dessert Line

    Industry News | June 25, 2009
Häagen-Dazs, maker of ice cream, sorbets, and other frozen desserts, announced it will offer its line of 16-ounce Sorbet Sippers for $3.99 through Labor Day weekend at participating Häagen-Dazs Shops across the United States. This summer’s Sorbet Sipper promotion marks the first time the dessert chain has set a fixed price on a menu item.

“Our Sorbet Sippers are the ultimate summer drink during the hot summer months,” said Dawn Uremovich, president of Häagen-Dazs Shops. “In these tough economic times we want to offer our loyal customers who have always craved the Sorbet Sippers, as well as our new guests, a cool summertime treat that won’t stretch their wallet.”

Sorbet Sippers are a no-fat frozen beverage made with all-natural ingredients. For example, the Mango Sorbet Sipper combines orange juice, seltzer water and mango sorbet into a smooth ice blend. Other Sorbet Sippers flavors include Raspberry, Strawberry, Orange, and Lemon.

“The Sorbet Sipper line has been a longtime favorite among our customers, and we are thrilled to offer this fan favorite at a fraction of the price,” said Eileen O’Toole, training and recipe development manager for Häagen-Dazs Shops. “The all-natural sorbet leaves customers with a fresh, long lasting flavor in their mouths that’s perfect on a hot day.”

Distinctive, all natural, frozen desserts remain a symbol of the shops’ ice creams, sorbets, yogurts, and other frozen desserts. “We distinguish ourselves in the frozen dessert category with the freshest ingredients available,” added Uremovich. “Today, Häagen-Dazs remains committed to the quality of our products. It’s what we’ve built our rich, stable history around.”
