Habit Restaurants Introduces French Onion Burger

    Industry News | October 10, 2014

Habit Restaurants has rolled out a French Onion Charburger that is available now through November 17 at more than 95 locations. The limited time Charburger, a take on the flavors of classic French onion soup, will sell for $4.50.

The French Onion Charburger starts with a toasted sesame seed bun spread with the Habit’s proprietary French onion sauce. A layer of lettuce and tomato is topped with a char-grilled beef patty with more French onion sauce, melted Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and the Habit’s grilled onions.

The robust, rich sauce complements the char-broiled beef,” says Chef Adam Baird, the Habit’s vice president of food and beverage and creator of the new Charburger. “The sautéed mushrooms build umami flavor; add our caramelized onions and the nutty nuance from melted Swiss cheese and its pure, intense, earthy flavor.”
