The Halal Guys has announced the signing of three major multi-unit franchise deals abroad. Nearly 40 new restaurants will open in the Philippines; Jakarta, Indonesia; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The franchisee for the Philippines has signed a 20-unit deal for the entire country, with the first location expected to open in the summer of 2015 in Manila. The Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta franchisees have signed 10- and 6-unit deals, respectively, for their territories.

Asia still has a number of major markets with prime franchise territories still available or under negotiation, including Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

A quote from Philippines Daily Inquirerreporter, Pam Pastor,on The Halal Guys’ expansion says, “Someone pinch me. It feels like a dream but it’s true – Halal Guys is really coming to Manila.”

The Halal Guys has partnered with Fransmart, the company behind the explosive growth of Five Guys Burgers and Fries and Qdoba Mexican Grill, as the brand’s exclusive Franchise Development Team, and the international franchisees worked with Fransmart’s VP of sales, Ryan Durishin, and senior director of development, Paul Tran, on their agreements.

Since announcing the launch of a franchise program in 2014, The Halal Guys has opened two corporate brick-and-mortar restaurants in Manhattan, and has more than 200 franchise units in development in territories including New Jersey, Connecticut, Houston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and the entire state of California — which sold out within the first two months of franchising.
