Hardee’s, the quick-service restaurant chain known best for its innovative, industry-changing premium burger offerings, Wednesday announced something a bit more classic: the Hardee’s Classic Double Cheeseburger, available now at participating restaurant locations.
Starting with two of the brand’s famous charbroiled beef patties, the Hardee’s Classic Double Cheeseburger is big on taste yet traditional on ingredients, with two slices of American cheese, grilled onions, tangy Thousand Island dressing, and fresh lettuce and tomato on a seeded bun.
"In the fast food industry today, it really has become a dogfight with every chain trying to outdo the other with new, never-before-seen, limited-time offers,” says Brad Haley, chief marketing officer for both Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s restaurants. “Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. have been leading that innovation race for years now, but we’ve never lost sight of the basics. The idea for a double burger with Thousand Island dressing dates back to the early 1930s and Hardee’s had its own version that was very popular in the 1970s. Of course, we think that charbroiling our patties and adding grilled onions takes the Hardee’s Classic Double Cheeseburger to a level that the originals never were able to reach. It’s one tasty burger at a price that makes it even harder to resist.”
The charbroiled Hardee’s Classic Double Cheeseburger is available starting at $2.49, and can be ordered as a combo meal with fries and a drink starting at $4.99; prices, however, may vary.
