In football, an easy interception is sometimes called a “biscuit.” On Monday, Hardee’s announced that any “biscuit” returned to the “house” for a touchdown during Sunday’s big game will unlock a free, Made From Scratch Sausage biscuit for everyone that visits a participating Hardee’s location on Friday, February 8 from 7 to 10 a.m.
“Hardee’s is well-known quality you can taste, highlighted by our fresh made from scratch biscuits,” says Jenna Folk, Director of Brand Marketing, Hardee’s. “While neither quarterback wants to throw a ‘biscuit’ that gets returned for a touchdown, there should be some solace in knowing millions of Americans will be enjoying a delicious, complimentary Sausage Biscuit if they do.”
Hardee’s is partnering with former all-pro James Harrison, who is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of his historic 100-yard interception return and score, to help spread the word.
“It’s hard to believe a decade has passed since I picked-off a ‘biscuit’ and took it to the ‘house’ for a touchdown,” says Harrison. “Big plays always add to the already electric atmosphere and lore of the championship game. Hardee’s has always been known for their homestyle biscuits so I’ll be rooting for a ‘Pick 6’ so we can make sure all of America gets to try one on the house.”
Made from scratch daily and freshly baked every morning, buttermilk biscuits are a staple of Hardee’s wholesome breakfast lineup. With over a dozen varieties of biscuit options to choose from, Hardee’s restaurants also offer sides, including Hash Rounds, and additional high-quality breakfast selections to help kickoff the day.
