In response to the rapidly growing trend in America toward spicier cuisine, Hardee’s is bringing back its Jalapeño Thickburger. Ever since the 2006 limited-time offer menu item was deleted from the menu, consumers have been e-mailing the fast-food chain to request its return.

“The Jalapeño Thickburger really brings the heat with a generous helping of jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, and a creamy yet zesty Santa Fe sauce,” says Brad Haley, Hardee’s executive vice president of marketing. “Like many of our guests, I have missed that memorable combination of flavors that is unlike any other mainstream fast-food burger out there, so I’m very glad to be able to announce its return.”

The Jalapeño Thickburger features a charbroiled 1/3-pound, 100 percent Black Angus beef patty topped with sliced jalapeno peppers, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and Santa Fe sauce on a seeded bun. The Jalapeño Thickburger will be sold at participating Hardee’s restaurants for $3.49 by itself, or $5.78 for a medium combo meal. Prices may vary.
