The Have It Your Way Foundation, the charitable arm of the Burger King brand, donated $300,000 to Give Kids The World (GKTW), a non-profit organization in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses. This donation will go toward the construction of four new villas, which will allow up to 208 more families to stay at the 70-acre Give Kids The World Village each year.
Anne Chwat, general counsel and president of the Have It Your Way Foundation, presented a check to Pamela Landwirth, president of Give Kids The World on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the village in Kissimmee, Florida.
In addition to the financial donation, franchisees, Burger King Corp. employees, and vendors will also volunteer their time and efforts on May 3 and May 8 to help with refurbishing projects at the village.
