The franchisee of 22 Burger King restaurants in Hawaii, Zubair Kazi of Kazi Foods, was recognized by the Burger King Corporation with its Brand Leadership Award. The award celebrates the top 16 franchisees from more than 1,200 that operate Burger King restaurants worldwide.

The distinction recognizes franchisees who excel in operating their restaurants by developing their employees, providing high-quality customer service, attaining operational excellence, investing in their businesses and demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the Burger King brand.

“Mr. Kazi of Kazi Foods is among these elite franchisees who have consistently delivered extraordinary results in all areas of their businesses,” says Chuck Fallon, president North America Burger King Corp.

Kazi purchased the Burger King restaurants of Hawaii five years ago and has since increased sales and the total number of restaurants.

“Our commitment to delight our guests by delivering on the Have It Your Way brand promise is at the core of our business,” Kazi says.

Kazi, an immigrant from India, worked as a cook in the fast food industry when he came to the U.S. more than 30 years ago. He now owns and operates nearly 300 various quick service restaurants in the U.S., American Samoa, and Fiji.
Kazi accepted his award during the 2008 Burger King Corporations’ Global Convention in Orlando, Florida in May.
